I’m heading out of town for a bachelorette so I’m rounding up my travel essentials today!

  1. These face wipes are the most refreshing ones I’ve tried. They aren’t the best at removing makeup, but they are perfect when you need a quick pick me up.

  2. This weekender bag is beautiful! I’ve had it for a few years now. It holds more than you expect, and goes with everything!

  3. I always have a cardigan with me when I travel by plane. If I’m not wearing it, I’ll use it as a blanket.

  4. CAKE BATTER Chapstick. Once you try it, you’ll never use anything else.

  5. After a few drinks, a little Listerine never hurt anyone.

  6. I literally never take my Maya Brenner necklace off so it has to come with me by default. I love how delicate it is. It goes with everything and reminds me of my boys.

  1. A good vintage rug gives me all the heart eyes. The price tag not so much. This is a Target find. I have one of their rugs in the living room, and it holds up incredibly well!

  2. Hemnes from Ikea. Love this line (as you’ll see in #5). I already have two of these bookcases with glass doors, so I’m working around them. They hold A LOT.

  3. The chair has been my biggest struggle. I feel like the colors of this chair complement the design. It is also gender neutral. I don’t want the office to be overly masculine or feminine, and this chair gets the job done.

  4. I love pops of green. I also am really good at killing plants. If you hang faux plants from the ceiling it will be harder to tell that they’re fake, right? Right?

  5. Hemnes desk. I removed the knobs and added some nice ones from Anthropologie. Personalizes it a bit more.

  6. First, this chair is EXPENSIVE. I am going to continue to search for another version, but this is just the most perfect wishbone chair that I have every seen.

  1. I LOVE having painted nails, but I am too anal for regular nail polish. One chip, and it all has to come off. When they invented gel polish, I celebrated for months straight. I bought this at home UV light when I saw how much I was spending at the salon. There’s a small learning curve, but I LOVE it now!

  2. After the destruction of one of my favorite decorative pumpkins, I’ve decided to embrace decor that cannot be destroyed as easily. I am channeling my inner Rembrandt using chalk pens and chalkboards throughout the house with festive sayings and drawings.

  3. Target has really upped their game. These slide loafers are the perfect shoe if you’re easing into the loafer trend like I am. I don’t feel like I’m trying too hard, and they’re really comfortable.

  4. If you’re making Halloween costumes, I highly recommend foam paper. It makes everything look just a bit crisper.

  5. I have one large wall in the kids’ wing of the house that I am itching to put an inspirational print on. This one is pretty on point.

  6. Vance doesn’t have too many more months of bottles, but I love this warmer. You don’t have to remember to get the bottle out an hour before every meal. Yes!

  1. This is the first toy that both my boys love and actually play with together. My 10 month old likes to chew them and my 2 year old likes to talk about the characters. Two thumbs up!

  2. I am a paper and pen girl all the way, but I have started to use Wunderlist to keep my lists close to me. I sync the lists from my phone to my watch also. That way I don’t have to get my phone out while shopping, which the baby loves to grab at.

  3. I mentioned earlier this week that I am thinking about tiling the underside of my kitchen island. I found some peel and stick tile that would make install easy (hopefully).

  4. Typically I love a good murder mystery, but sometimes I need something lighthearted. Jane the Virgin is just the thing to watch when I have a little alone time and can put my feet up.

  5. NEW. FAVORITE.CARDIGAN - The color doesn’t come up correctly on the screen, its a light cream with gray. Goes with everything! And so soft! 30% off right now

  6. I was surprised that Joann’s Fabrics had a great selection of Halloween decor on sale.

  1. Headed to Target this week (obviously), and they had an adorable assortment of affordable fall decor. Check out Chrissy’s post all about Target’s Halloween decor too!

  2. We picked up some Halloween Oreos and sprinkles. We’ll be experimenting with some spooooooky recipes this weekend.

  3. I absolutely love my Maya Brenner alphabet necklace. I have a B + V on it for my boys. I have not taken it off since the day Vance was born.

  4. I look forward to going to bed not only because I love me some sleep, but I look so forward to reading this book. I’ve only got a few more chapters left, and I can’t wait to see what happens!

  5. Ahhh, Florida Fall. I picked up this Twill Field Jacket from Old Navy. It’s probably the heaviest thing I’ll need until February.

  6. I’ve been trying to take more of an active approach to my health which includes eating good proteins especially after my workouts. These bars are awesome. I usually try to devour it in the car since we are a nut free house. It’s surprisingly easy to do in the 5 minutes from the gym back home.

  1. I ordered this sweatshirt this week. It is the perfect cozy sweatshirt. Definitely going to be well loved this Fall.

  2. I’ve just started using Laura Mercier under eye setting powder. While the jury is still out on that product, I love the brush! It’s so soft and fluffy!

  3. We’ve been making egg-free ice cream this summer, and this machine is so easy to use!

  4. Daydreaming about adding electric sconces in our sunroom turned into a Pinterest rabbit hole.

  5. Both my boys are all about Duplo lately. I love this starter set.

  6. Boy I wish I had a green thumb. Until I figure that out, I love Target for faux plants.

1.  As I have said before, my toddler loves to be in the kitchen with us.  He's been getting better at pouring ingredients into bowls without completely missing, so I decided to get this learning tower so that he could really participate.  He LOVES it.  He climbs in on his own and comes and goes as he pleases.  I think this is a great opportunity to teach him about math (eek!) and following instructions.  [MAJOR BONUS: I was able to assemble myself.  It only has a few feet to put on, but I patted myself on the back still.]

2. We have been composting for about 3 months now, and it would not be possible without this countertop bin.  We load it up daily and take it out to the large composter outside every night.  It holds enough for our family of four and doesn't smell like ass unless you forget about it.

3. Finally caved on this one.  We've noticed lately that if Brooks, 2, falls asleep in the car before a nap, he will not nap AT ALL.  We only use the iPad with movies if it is close to nap time and we know he will be in the car.  This case is perfect to hang on the seat in front of him or for him to grasp.

4. Did you watch Dexter when it was on?! I did on and off, but we started it back up recently on Netflix and it is so good! Exactly what my crime loving heart needed.  That sounds weird.  I don't love crime.  This escalated quickly.

5. It's hot.  This fan clips on to the stroller, and it's slightly less hot.  Boom.

Apparently, I've been daydreaming about redoing the house more than I thought!

1. Step one whenever I plan on changing a room up is decluttering thanks to Emily Ley's A Simplified Life.  I am a bit of a hoarder (not in the dirty way, more in the 'oh, you still have that?' way).  This book helped to change my mindset so that I could toss more and keep only the things I love.

2. This dress has been the perfect piece to transition from postpartum to getting my 'old' body back.  It is breezy so it's great for the summer.  I have the black one so that I can wear it on dates and feel comfortable (READ: eat all of the things and not worry about pants).

3. I stare at our open concept dining room all day.  The chairs we have now I accidentally bought in a rush because we were hosting Thanksgiving years ago.  They're tiny and silly and I want to exchange them so badly with these!

4. Kraft paper is one of my favorite ways to [try to] teach my toddler.  This week I rolled it out, wrote 'blue' in bubble letters and we drove cars all over it and talked about the color.  Then we threw everything we could find that was blue into the blue circle.  Then I rolled it up and didn't think about it again.  No mess easy peasy.

5.  The guest room also needs a new comforter, and I've got my eyes set on this one from Target.  It's feminine and fun - just like my houseguests are!

Happy Weekend to all!

Finds + Favorites

This week our schedules were all over the place, so I was grateful for these life savers!

one | two | three | four | five | six

1. I use these liners in my fridge.  They aren't sticky, but they absorb everything.  I bought my last ones in March, and they are just now looking a bit worn.  I'm just grateful that I didn't have to clean the blueberry goo off the fridge.

2. There is one little corner in my house that just makes me feel relaxed.  That's where this chair from TARGET is.  It's comfy and way more affordable than similar styles.

3. I was on morning duty this week, which is miserable for me.  However, I do look forward to applying this citrusy Truth Serum.  Honestly, I don't know what it does but it smells and feels nice and I imagine that I glow afterwards.  Now that I think about it, its way too pricey for me to not have done my research, but it turned out ok!

4. I've got a serious sweet tooth.  Instead of pounding another container of icing that we might or might not leave in the fridge, I grabbed these.  They hit the spot!

5. EVERYONE RUN NOW AND GET THESE.  They are affordable and indestructible.  I imagine they are like the Native shoes, but these are under $25.  And now that Crocs is closing, I'll be stocking up for sure.

6. Brooks got this toy for his 1st birthday.  He's nearly 2.5 now, but there are different parts to play with at every age.  I've found him quietly playing with it multiple times this week.  If that doesn't tell you that you need it, you're not a parent.

Some of my finds + favorites across the internet (mostly Amazon because hey Prime!) this week.

1. I have almost cut my hand a few two many times making avocado toast and baby food to not have one of these. Stupid, millennial momma.

2. I wear these shoes constantly - with dresses, short, jeans.  They're the perfect mom shoe, and I will shout it from the rooftops!

3, I have and love my own UV light for at home gel manis, but sometimes I've got to let my nails rest.  In between the real deal, I like Essie Gel Couture.  It really does last 7-10 days.

4. I always have two of these roaming the house.  The rubber top allows little hands in and limits the crumbs and extra food that comes out.  A woman designed this.

5. I've made two things from this book - the biscuits and Mexican rice. And dammmmn. They're good.

6. My brother and sister in law got this for Brooks, but it is the perfect toy to let Vance play along.  We have music time every morning.  It is loud and silly and awesome.

Have a great weekend!
