Easter Basket Stuffers for Babies, Toddlers, and Bigger Kids
/For my family, Easter basket gifts have become a sort of symbolic way to welcome warm weather and reinvigorate a sense of play. For those reasons, I gravitate toward Easter basket stuffers that are useful rather than cheap or something that will be lost or tossed within a few days. Also, as a family with food allergies, avoiding candy is usually a safer option for us.
Easter Basket Stuffers for Bigger Kids
Walkie Talkies
My boys have had walkie talkies for awhile, but I wouldn’t recommend them for kids under 4. They have dropped them, lost batteries, needed help with buttons, etc. However, if your kids are old enough these are SO much fun for kids to play with - inside and outside.
Hot Wheels + Road Tape
Hot Wheels alone might be asking to get lost, but if you limit the numbers and gift them with the tape road, they are far more likely to last longer.
Binoculars
My kids love to take their binoculars on nature walks and outdoor adventures. We also like to take them to the beach or when we pretend to be explorers.
Custom crayons
If your kids can read their name, get a custom set of crayons spelling their name. If not, this local Tampa business has seasonal options like bunnies and eggs.
Tubby Todd Products
I love these products for my child with sensitive skin and the packaging is perfect for Easter baskets!
Sidewalk Chalk
A fresh set of chalk is required as an Easter basket stuffer! We use our chalk to play hopscotch and practice number, letter, shape, and sight word recognition.
Blank Comic Book
My kids have been on a real art kick. This is a great way to reinforce sequences and storytelling in an artistic way.
Raincoats
April showers bring May flowers! Raincoats are a spring essential for us. With three kids, there is no chance that I can manage all of them and an umbrella while crossing the street.
Card games
Uno is a great first card game for little kids. And Monopoly Deal is a short version of the original game. My husband and I love to play a few rounds of this game in the evening.
Personalized Goodies
My kids love this hat, but any personalized clothes or gifts always add a special element. These hats fit my 3 and 4 year old perfectly.

Board books
Board books are my favorite for little ones. Guess How Much I Love You is a classic and quick read for bedtime.
Mess free coloring
Water wow and Color Wonder are one of the easiest toys to let a little one play with independently. With no mess, they can explore and practice fine motor skills.
Teethers
Alleviate some tooth pain with a seasonal teether.
Hair Accessories
I love refreshing hair bows this time of year. And the Wet Brush is an everyday essential and the only brush I will use on my kids’ pool hair.
Stuffies
My kids call stuffed animals stuffies. Something about Cuddle and Kind dolls just scream spring!
Matching Eggs
I talk (endlessly) about these matching eggs on my Instagram. They are a perfect Easter basket stuffer for all ages, but I love them for little ones who need durable, safe toys. As my kids grow into toddlers, we love to match the shapes and colors and play kitchen with these too.
Stacking Toys
I sneakily love stacking toys because you can disassemble them to completely fill up an Easter basket with just one purchase!
Letter Magnets
All of my kids play with these letter magnets. My 1 year old likes to explore the magnetic element and move them all over the fridge and my older boys use them for letter recognition and to spell words.
Toys for traveling
I always try to have a toy that is one piece with a lot of elements that the kids can use for travel, but I only have to pack one thing. This one is a great Easter basket stuffer with these bright colors! I think traveling and road trips are on the horizon again!!
What can I use instead of Easter baskets?
Festive baskets are great, but I prefer that anything that comes into my house serves a purpose beyond taking a room in the attic. If you feel the same way, consider stuffing rain boots, pool floats, new backpacks or outdoor toys. Don’t forget the crinkle paper or tissue paper at the bottom to fill out the item and make it look like the basket is overfilling with Easter basket stuffers without spending an arm and a leg. Here are some of my favorite Easter basket alternatives:
