I currently have a 3 year old and 4.5 year old. Active is the only word to describe them. They are constantly moving, thinking, running, jumping, and finding new ways to turn my house into Wrestlemania.

I love to gift items that kids will either play with for hours on end or find new ways to use all the time. Everything on this list either already sits in my home or my kids will be getting this year. So here’s the run down on each item.

One

I play on gifting this to all the kids this year as their big gift. The kids are basically monkeys and this pricetag will pretty much take over our entire budget, but the possibilities are endless. I can see it being used as a pirate ship and someone is walking the plank or a balance beam with lava below.

Two

I gave this to my then 2 year old last year, and he has grown to love it over the bast year. And his older brother plays with it also. If you are thinking of getting an older child a bike, this scooter is a great alternative for a younger sibling.

Three

I love the sensory opportunity this provides. We definitely have moments when a little alone time is called for, and I think this Harkala will be the new coveted alone spot.

Four

We have a version of this and a separate ball pit. This set up has inspired me to combine the two into one fun zone.

Five

I mentioned a few weeks ago that sandboxes are AMAZING. Being in central Florida, it is a year round activity for us. My kids get so creative in there. I can’t tell you how many dirt pies I have “eaten” from their bakery. Pro Tip: If you get a sandbox, don’t forget to grab a few bags of sand to go with it!

Six

I personally hate frisbees because I suck at throwing them. But my 3 year old loves these. They are easy to grip and really do soar. Now, I just need to figure out how to keep them from going over the fence.

Seven

Hear me out. For the amount of play that my kids get out of it, it is certainly worth the investment. Storage is easy as it comes with its own bag and the stakes to secure it to the ground go in there. And the fan to blow it up is easy to work. The entire thing inflates in less than a minute. AND if you live where it gets too cold to play outside, how much fun would this be in a basement?

Eight

I can see my kids burning A LOT of energy on this classic toy.

Nine

We have a pretty basic water table, and it gets used multiple times a day. No exaggeration. My kids love it. Again, I “eat” water soups all the time. This table looks especially fun with the pulley system it has.

Ten

Active kids are going to take a fall from time to time. This safety set fits my above average sized preschoolers great. But if you’ve got smaller kids, pay attention to the sizing.

Eleven

The perfect indoor family bonding activity! And if your kids aren’t reading yet, that’s fine! This version just has pictures on the cards. [ I instantly added this to my cart.]

Twelve

This was gifted to us earlier this year. It is another example of a gift that opens up so many opportunities for imagination. Plus it works on gross motor skills. Also, I use them for when my workouts call for a bench.

Thirteen

Another option for alone time. Plus this is a great sensory activity that allows kids to explore their range of motion and balance.

Fourteen

This might look like an odd gift. What is it? That’s exactly it! It doesn’t have a designated purpose. You can sit and spin. You can flip it and stand on it. You can put water or sand through the holes. Let their imagination run wild! Plus, it is easy to clean.

Fifteen

Stomp and rocket in the same sentence. Nuff said.

Sixteen

A great inside active kid option. My kids love that the seat lifts up on ours. They hide their goodies in there.
